The Port Orange South Daytona Chamber of Commerce 2024 Mayors' Breakfast took place at The Shores Resort & Spa in Daytona Beach Shores on Thursday, February 15. Mayors in attendance included: Bill Hall, South Daytona; Nancy Miller, Daytona Beach Shores; Don Burnette, Port Orange; and Lois Paritsky, Ponce Inlet. The theme of the event was Celebrating Our Hometown Heroes and it honored local police and firefighters.

The following were named either Officer or Firefighter of the Year:

Daytona Beach Shores - Officer Conrad Kerins

Ponce Inlet - Sergeant Doug Rudd

Port Orange - Officer Eric Meislahn and Firefighter Tyler Simmons

South Daytona - Officer Bryan Grondin and Firefighter Scott Ryan

Other elected officials in attendance included: Volusia County Councilman Jake Johansson; Volusia County Council Member at Large Matt Reinhart; Sheriff of Volusia County Mike Chitwood, Port Orange City Manager Wayne Clark; City of South Daytona City Manager Les Gillis; City of Daytona Beach Shores City Manager Kurt Swartzlander; Town of Ponce Inlet Town Manager, Michael Disher.

Ponce Inlet Welcomed into Port Orange South Daytona ChamberThe event was sponsored by Halifax Health as the title sponsor. Other sponsors included Ritchey Buick GMC; Launch Credit Union; Florida Power & Light; Progressive Medical Research; and Volusia Memorial Park & Funeral Homes.

The Town of Ponce Inlet was also welcomed into the Port Orange South Daytona Chamber of Commerce on February 15 when President Barbara Ann Heegan attended the Ponce Inlet council meeting and presented a plaque to Mayor Paritsky.
