Potential South Causeway Boat Park Enhancements
The Port Orange City Council recently approved an application for a grant through the Florida Inland Navigation District (FIND) to enhance the docks at the South Causeway Boat Ramp Park. The details of the project include reconstructing the south boat ramp, and addressing issues such as sediment removal and ramp slope adjustments to allow for easier access for boaters. Additionally, the existing wood docks will be replaced with a more resilient full floating system, ensuring greater versatility and durability during storms. These improvements will be accompanied by upgrades to parking to accommodate more vehicles and will add ADA parking spaces. If the grant is approved, construction on the project is anticipated to begin in 2025.
