Thanksgiving Waste Collection: Modified schedules across Volusia County.

As Thanksgiving nears, Waste Pro has announced the closure of its office on Thanksgiving Day. To ensure a seamless transition during the Thanksgiving holiday, residents should heed the modified schedules in their respective areas, as follows:
- Deltona: There is no collection service provided on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, and will be picked up on Friday, November 24. Collection service for Friday, November 24 will be picked up on Saturday, November 25.
- Daytona Beach: Thursday Routes will be collected on Friday, November 24, 2023. Friday Routes will be picked up on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Commercial accounts will be serviced on Wednesday or Friday, depending on location.
- Edgewater: Refuse pickup on Monday and Tuesday, November 20 and 21, will proceed as scheduled. Wednesday, November 22, will focus on recycling and bagged yard waste. There will be no waste collection on Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24, is designated for recycling only.
- Holly Hill: No garbage pickups are scheduled on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2023. Residential garbage and recycling will be picked up on your next regular collection day: Monday, November 27, 2023, for Garbage and Thursday, December 1, 2023, for Recycling. Friday’s service will remain unchanged.
- New Smyrna: No Garbage or Recycle Collection on Thursday, November 23rd, 2023. Thursday Garbage and Recycle Routes will be picked up on Saturday, November 25th, 2023
- Oak Hill: There will be no garbage, recycling, or yard waste collection on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2023. Thursday’s routes will be serviced on Saturday, November 25, 2023. All material must be curbside by 6:00 a.m. on your above-scheduled date.
- Ormond Beach: There will be no garbage or recycling collection on Thursday, November 23, 2023. Thursday’s routes will be picked up on Friday, November 24, 2023, and Friday’s routes are scheduled for Saturday, November 25, 2023. The yard waste schedule will remain unchanged.
- Port Orange: There will be no Garbage, Recycling, or Large Yard Waste picked up on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2023. Thursday's Garbage, Recycling, and Large Yard Waste will be collected on Saturday, November 25, 2023. Material must be curbside by 7:00 am on the day of collection.
- Ponce Inlet: There will be no garbage pickup on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23rd, 2023 Thursday Collection will be on Friday, November 24, 2023
- South Daytona: There will be no garbage pickup on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23rd, 2023 Thursday’s routes are scheduled for Saturday, November 25, 2023 Yard Waste – No change for Thanksgiving Week. All material must be curbside by 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection.
- Unincorporated Volusia County: For unincorporated Volusia County residents (outside all city limits), there will be no garbage, recycling, bulk waste, or yard waste collection on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 2023. The make-up day for Thursday is scheduled for Saturday, November 25, 2023. If your normal collection day is Thursday, please place items at the curb by 6 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2023, for collection. Regular waste collection service for garbage, recycling, bulk waste, and yard waste collection will take place as scheduled on Friday, November 24, 2023. If your collection day is Friday, please place items at the curb on Friday, November 24, by 6 a.m. for normal collection.
The West Volusia Transfer Station and the Tomoka Farms Road Landfill are closed on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23. Normal hours of operation for both facilities will resume on Friday, November 24, 2023. Volusia County Solid Waste Administration offices will be closed for Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24, 2023. Administration offices will re-open Monday, November 27, at 8 a.m.
There will be no Waste Pro service changes for Daytona Beach Shores, DeBary, and Lake Helen.
