The Party Has Arrived!
Carnival has finally brought its newest generation of ships to Florida after the pandemic delayed the launch of one of the most innovative ships to date. Meet Carnival Mardi Gras. No not the old ship from years ago. Meet the new and improved Mardi Gras.
Paying homage to the first “Fun Ship”, the revamped Mardi Gras is the first ship to sail out of the US using LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) over the diesel fuel other ships are using. LNG is one of the many ways cruise lines are looking to be more environmentally friendly. Coming in at a staggering 180,000 gross tons, with a full capacity of 5,282 (double occupancy), a crew of 1,745, and standing 17 decks high, Mardi Gras is already turning heads in the industry. With plenty of restaurants to go around, plenty of cabins, and much more, Mardi Gras is ready to party.
Arriving at 6:47 am on June 4th, 2021 into Port Canaveral, which is located just outside Orlando, FL, and getting a massive greeting from 1,500+ onlookers as she pulled into the port. Once she was moored into place, county, port, and Carnival staff all welcomed her with open arms in a big welcome party held at Port Canaveral. She is ready to party and is open for bookings for her inaugural cruises beginning this summer.
