City of Port Orange Conducts Annual Citizen Survey

Port Orange, FL –
The City of Port Orange will conduct its annual Citizen Survey, asking residents for feedback about the programs and services the City provides. The survey will also serve as a valuable tool for measuring service performance and soliciting input on key budget goals and operating objectives.

For over ten years, the City has conducted the survey and from January 31 through March 1, 2020, the City will email 17,000 contacts within the city with a link to the survey. This will be the fifth year the City will use SurveyMonkey to facilitate the Citizen Survey, as it has proven an efficient and effective method to collect responses and has aided in the analytical process. Other methods to access the survey will be available on the City’s website, Twitter posts and Facebook posts. Respondents will also have the ability to complete the survey on paper, if requested.

The survey will include 49 questions in the following categories: Demographics, Fire Rescue, Police, Parks and Recreation, Community Development, Public Information, Public Utilities, Public Works, Value of Services, Strategic Goals, Overall Satisfaction, Contact information.

“Port Orange is a great community and this survey is a great method to help us understand how to best serve our citizens in the future,” said Alan Rosen, Assistant City Manager.  “Additionally, the survey results will assist the Mayor and City Council to not only measure past progress but also how to chart the future direction of City programs and spending priorities. We encourage those who receive this survey to help us plan our community’s future.”

Survey results are expected in early summer.
