Del Taco Coming to Port Orange

With the building nearly complete, Del Taco has set a target of early May for its soft opening in Port Orange. The new restaurant is located in Dunlawton Square on the corner of Nova Road and Dunlawton next to the Burger King.

Del Taco specializes in American-style Mexican cuisine, as well as American foods such as burgers, fries, and shakes. Del Taco is led by Brand President Tom Rose, and is headquartered in Lake Forest, California. Ed Hackbarth and David Jameson opened the first Del Taco in Yermo, CA in 1964. With a menu of 19¢ tacos, tostadas, fries, and 24¢ cheeseburgers, Del Taco brought in $169 in sales on its first day in business - the equivalent of 900 tacos.
