The Cultural Council of Volusia County has announced two informative workshops scheduled for January to assist organizations seeking to apply for the coveted Volusia County Community Cultural Grant. These workshops are crucial for entities aspiring to secure funding for cultural and heritage-based programs within the region.

The first workshop is at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 22, in the first-floor training rooms of the Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center located at 123 W. Indiana Avenue in DeLand. Following this, the second workshop will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 29, in the second-floor community room of the Daytona Beach Shores Community Center situated at 3000 Bellemead Drive in Daytona Beach Shores.

To be eligible to apply for the grant, a representative from the organization must attend one of these workshops. The Community Cultural Grant, a vital source of support, extends general operating funds to nonprofit organizations in Volusia County that prioritize delivering cultural or heritage-based programs to the public.

In 2022, the Cultural Council allotted a commendable $611,758 to 30 deserving organizations as part of the Community Cultural Grant program. The workshops will serve as comprehensive sessions, offering valuable information about the submission deadline and the crucial grant scoring date.

Upon completion of the application process, grant award recommendations will be provided to the Volusia County Council for thorough review and final approval, ensuring a transparent and accountable allocation of funds to organizations contributing to the community's cultural richness.

For additional details and inquiries, interested parties should contact Cultural Coordinator Robert Redd at 386-736-5953, extension 15872, or rredd@volusia.org.
