The city of Port Orange’s Interim City Manager, Alan Rosen, has tendered his resignation on December 22, 2020.

Rosen has accepted a position with Lake County, to be the new County Manager.

“Today, the Lake County Board of County Commissioners voted to approve my contract as the next County Manager. It has been an honor and a pleasure to have served as the Interim Assistant City Manager, Assistant City Manager, and Interim City Manager over these last six years. I will truly miss the support and comradery from both the elected officials and the staff here in Port Orange,” Rosen said in his resignation letter to the city.

Mr. Rosen has worked in Port Orange since January 2015 as the Assistant City Manager and has been serving as the Interim City Manager since December 11 after former City Manager, Michael “Jake” Johansson, tendered his resignation to the City on November 4.

Additionally, Mr. Rosen appointed Susan Lovallo, the City’s Parks & Recreation Director, as Interim Assistant City Manager, which took effect on December 14.

Rosen’s official last day will be January 22, 2021.

The City Council also appointed Jamie Miller, Administrative Services Director, as next Interim City Manager, effective January 22, 2021, at 5:00 p.m.

“I’m humbled that our City Council has entrusted me to serve this city on an interim basis. I look forward to continuing to lead with integrity and transparency while ensuring progress on city priorities,” said Ms. Miller regarding the Interim position appointment.
