The Pars and a Purpose for Children's Cure Fundraiser Golf Tournament and Luncheon benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, was held this past Saturday, on October 23, at Crane Lakes Golf and Country Club in Port Orange and received an overwhelming response, according to Event Coordinator David Vanvalkenburgh.
"I have been overwhelmed by the sponsors, donation contributions, the airport doing a flyover for us, and the forty-five volunteers stepping up to help put on this event for St Jude Children’s Hospital," said Mr. Vanvalkenburgh. "The commitment and participation from the volunteers, sponsors, donators, and friends was overwhelming and greatly appreciated. Without them, this event would not have been successful."
The benefit event featured a four-person scramble golf tournament with various activities planned, including an awards ceremony and luncheon, which raised more than $38,000 for St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Pars and a Purpose for a Children's Cure benefiting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, has met its goal ($25,000), and then some with donations still coming in, and with a small event planned at Texas Roadhouse at the Port Orange Pavilion. The restaurant will be donating ten percent of all dine-in or to-go orders to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital on November 4 from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

"I would like to say a special thank you to our Title Sponsor, Belden Communications, to Wayne, John, and all the staff for their dedication, efforts, and their accomplishment to support and help promote our event," said Mr. Vanvalkenburgh. "Their efforts took our event to a nationally recognized fundraiser, recognized by tens of thousands of people."
Belden Communications, LLC, is a local 20-year-old Marketing Agency that is proud to have been involved with the fundraiser which supports St Jude.
To the sixty sponsors, numerous amounts of volunteers, and all the donators, because of your help, no family ever receives a bill from St. Jude’s for treatment, travel, housing, or food—because all a family should worry about is helping their child live!
